Meet the Artist

A young woman with long dark hair, wearing a gothic style outfit with lace and ribbons, jewelry including rings, necklaces, earrings, and a septum piercing, standing in front of a colorful mural with orange, blue, and yellow sections and a white wall with abstract sketches.

Hello! My name is Andreana Santos-How, usually known as Andri. I’m a Filipino tattoo artist based in Long Beach, CA and I’m currently working in Los Angeles. I’ve been tattooing since 2022 and have been a visual artist since 2012. Tattooing has become a separate project outside of my work as a multimedia artist with experience in different mediums from painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art. My work as a painter is heavily influenced by themes of grief and transformation inspired by my experiences migrating to the United States from the Philippines and that same connection I have with my Filipino ancestry led me to a passion for tattooing.

In 2022, I received my BFA in Studio Arts from University of California Los Angeles and completed my tattoo apprenticeship in 2023. Since then, I’ve been guesting in different tattoo shops around Los Angeles to share my work and connect with the LA Community. As of now, I’m currently working as a resident in FloTats LA located in Leimert Park.

I’ve also had the privilege of talking with VoyageLA to share the story of my journey of how I came to be an artist.
